Release Week, Part Five: The Night We Launched — Love Like Liberation Party

Hello again, and welcome back to The Roc Journal.

This is the one my whole heart was building toward all week — the Love Like Liberation launch party. Thursday night, a private venue, an intimate crowd, and a room full of love.

Mr. Suprize catered, and the food was so delicious. Izzy did my makeup, Reggae Moms styled me, and I felt every bit myself walking into that room.

So many people blessed the stage. Tru Saan kicked it off with one of his originals. Then Queen Theresa King took the stage, followed by Mr. Suprize, then Ras Pylott, then the Rebel Empire / Bert McKoy / Dan Marcus combination. Obek and Luis of Santa Ganjah Sound gave us a song too.

Then it was my turn. Tru Saan and I opened with Anticipation. Queen Theresa King and I performed Queen for the very first time. Safe & Sound with Mr. Suprize. And I closed the night with Sweet Like Mango.

It was such a sweet time. Everyone was encouraging, everyone loved the vibe, and we loved hearing from each other. We took so many pictures. Israel and Rebecca came through on videography and photography — so there is more content coming soon from that night.

You can catch a glimpse from the night here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Da4rFyWimcA/

This is what liberation feels like — a room full of artists lifting each other, and the music carrying us all the way home.

Signing off with much love, Jahmi Roc 🌿
