Release Week, Part Six: The World in One Room — Release Day Listening Party

Hello again, and welcome back to The Roc Journal.

Release day. Friday. And to mark it, we gathered for a listening party — and it was awesome.

We held it on Zoom, and people came through from all different parts of the world. That is what made it so precious. Different time zones, different corners of the globe, all of us in the same space at the same time, pressing play together.

We listened together, and we reacted together. There is nothing quite like hearing a song land in real time — someone catching a lyric, someone feeling a riddim, everyone reacting in the same breath. It was honestly such a warm time, just being able to feel the music together.
